Suppose the mRNA codes for a protein that is toxic. Yes, mRNA can then be dangerous.
There's even some basis for the mRNA-coded spike protein of COVID being toxic. It caused some people to have heart inflammation. Much less so than actual COVID would, so it was still much safer than COVID, but not 100% safe.
And not being 100% safe is OK. As I said, the vaccines were much safer than having COVID. But it's still rational to subject mRNA vaccines to scrutiny.
I agree, however, that blanket rejection of such vaccines is completely irrational, based on the very wide use and testing of the mRNA vaccines against COVID. They were demonstrated to be very, very safe and quite effective. In fact, such a success that you can compare the COVID mRNA vaccines to be maybe the best and most successful vaccine ever if you factor in things like development time.
